022 Tony's Tips // Deletion Log
Video Transcription
Hey Guys, Tony here from CartonCloud with Tony's Tips.
What I wanted to talk to you about today was deletion logs. Now, deletion logs is just exactly that. It is a log of all of the files which have been deleted, whether it be a sales order, a purchase order, or a consignment. Where you find these logs is if you go up into the search for anything and you type in deletion logs, What you'll actually get is you'll come to a page which is full of consignment sales orders and purchase orders which have been deleted. You can actually see the date it was created, you can see who the user was who actually deleted it, and, if need be, you can actually go into something.
For instance, say this sales order. We can go into this sales order and it actually shows you a whole heap of what looks like mumbo jumbo to you and me. But when you actually look close, what you can actually see is we have things along the lines of here where you can actually see that this line here is customer reference. We've got stakeout number three. You can actually go through and with a little bit of investigation, you can actually work out what the sales order was, or what the reference was, or the consignment, or whatever it may be. You can see who's deleted it. You can then go and approach Jake or Tony and say, "Hey Jake, you deleted this. Can you please let me know what the goal was there?" and get down to the bottom of why it was deleted and how we move forward or whether it was truly deleted on purpose.
Just another one of Tony's Tips, which I think with a little bit of inspection in here, you can actually find things. We've even had people put complete sales orders back together again when they've deleted them incorrectly. It's a bit of a pain, but it's a really good way to get down to the bottom of what actually happened
Just another one of Tony's Tips.
